How a piece is actually made

Wool fibre is compressed with barbed needles until it locks into a shape. There is no way to hurry it: each layer has to be needled until it holds, and the form is built up and taken down repeatedly until the proportions are right.

Materials and honesty

  • Natural wool. Soft, durable and naturally textured — it does not read as plastic.
  • No 3D printing or moulds. Every piece is shaped by hand from loose fibre.
  • Known limits. Glossy coats, exact colour matching and very fine detail are beyond the material. We tell you before you order rather than after.
